US Equestrian appreciates the dedication of our competition managers to operating safe and fun licensed competitions.

While we all work hard to prevent any emergencies, safety issues, and human or equine injuries in many different ways, preparation is still essential. That’s why we’ve just published an Incident Response Guide for Competitions, which is available at this link

This guide gives competition management a blueprint for how to coordinate communication, create and execute plans for inclement weather or participant injuries, and prepare for media inquiries in the wake of an emergency. The contents highlight not just USEF requirements for some of these areas, but general best practices. The guide includes sample emergency action plans, contact lists, statements, communication procedures, and more that can be tailored to your event. Even if you’re an experienced competition manager, please take a few minutes to review this guide and share it with those on your team ahead of your next competition.
