Lexington, Ky. - US Equestrian is pleased to announce significant updates and enhancements to the EventPass by EquiTrace platform designed to streamline the horse health documentation process at USEF-licensed competitions that subscribe to the EventPass system. Competitors are encouraged to use EventPass to ensure their health documents meet competition requirements prior to their arrival at the venues utilizing EventPass. By eliminating the need for paper-based verification, the software helps save valuable time.

Launched in early 2025, EventPass modernizes the verification and tracking of horse health documents. Members can manage their records seamlessly with advanced scanning technology, making it simple to upload digital copies of required records, including Coggins, vaccinations, and health certificates.
By securely verifying health documentation, EquiTrace is able to identify record discrepancies and better track potential health risks. In the event of an outbreak, athletes and care teams can be notified quickly, helping safeguard equine health and competition integrity.
"EventPass by EquiTrace has made the show check-in process infinitely easier and allows our show secretaries the ability to concentrate on other important processes while remaining confident that all health requirements are met and documents are saved for future reference,” said Lindsey Patt, Lead Show Secretary for Split Rock Jumping Tour. “With continued integration throughout the industry, exhibitors will appreciate the ease and continuity of check in, and all can rest assured that the horses are entering a safe and healthy environment."
“At World Equestrian Center, the safety of our competitors’ horses is always the top priority,” said Tom Hern, World Equestrian Center Senior Director of Equestrian Operations. “Partnering with EquiTrace has transformed the way we manage health records, ensuring all requirements set by our facilities and USEF are accurate and up to date. The platform is easy for exhibitors to use and has streamlined processes for our office staff, improving both efficiency and accuracy. We look forward to continuing our partnership with EquiTrace at upcoming events.”
How EventPass Works
US Equestrian members can sign up for a free account on EventPass called “EventPass Lite.” From there, they will download the mobile app, available both on Apple and Android devices. Horses are added by synchronizing their USEF account online or by searching the horse’s USEF ID directly in the app.

After a horse is added, competitors must manually confirm each horse’s “Barn Name” in the profile. Required health documents, including Coggins, proof of vaccination records, and health certificates can then be uploaded. Each horse may have one Coggins uploaded at a time, along with the most recent vaccination or certification as required by the competition.
Every document uploaded undergoes a verification process to ensure records are valid and meet USEF and competition requirements. Within the app, competitors can view the status of their uploaded proofs, including whether a document has been verified, pending approval, or rejected. Once approved, documents stay securely stored in the horse’s profile and can be used to generate an EventPass for multiple shows
In order to create an EventPass, competitors must select the competition they plan to attend, along with their expected arrival and departure dates, and confirm whether the horse is traveling within the state or across state lines. Multiple horses can be included on a single EventPass, streamlining the process for barns travelling with several entries. If a health declaration is required by a competition, it can be completed directly in the app before the EventPass is generated.
To support members in keeping records current, EventPass sends automatic reminders two weeks before any uploaded document expires. This feature reduces last-minute stress and guarantees compliance before arriving on the grounds. With everything stored in one place, competitors, trainers, and care teams can manage their horses’ health documentation efficiently and confidently.
"EquiTrace EventPass represents an important step forward in how we support our members and protect the health of our horses,” said Bill Moroney, Chief Executive Officer of US Equestrian. “By simplifying the management of health documents and reducing the paperwork at competition, we’re making the process more efficient while strengthening equine welfare across the sport.”
"At EquiTrace, our mission is to make horse shows safer, simpler, and more efficient for competitors, organizers, and veterinarians alike,” said Killian Gaffney, EquiTrace Chief Executive Officer. EventPass eliminates the stress of paperwork at the showgrounds by ensuring health documents are verified ahead of time and securely stored for future use. With the support of US Equestrian, we’re proud to see EventPass becoming the trusted standard nationwide helping to safeguard equine health while giving athletes and their teams more time to focus on competition."
