Lexington, KY - The United States Equestrian Federation and The EQUUS Foundation are pleased to announce the winner of the EQUUS Foundation Humanitarian Award. Bob Cacchione, Executive Director of the Intercollegiate Horse Show Association (IHSA), was selected from more than 20 nominees to receive this distinctive honor. The award will be presented January 22, 2011, at the USEF Pegasus Awards Dinner during the Federation's Annual Meeting in Lexington, KY.

Lexington, KY - The United States Equestrian Federation (USEF) provided 12 of the best up-and-coming jumping riders in the U.S. a chance to ride with the biggest legend in the game as the George H. Morris Horsemastership Training Session took center stage at the Palm Beach International Equestrian Center from January 4-8, 2011 in Wellington, FL. This Training Session isn't just about riding, it is about every aspect of being a complete horseperson. From stable management to course design, no topic was left unexplored.

Lexington, KY - Lights. Camera. Action! The American Saddlebred Museum at the Kentucky Horse Park is readying its 2011 exhibit which will feature both Saddlebreds and Saddlebred owners that have played important roles in the movies, on television and throughout history. "Celebrities: Saddlebreds and Personalities from the Silver Screen, Cinema and History" will open on February 18, 2011.

Equine Event Management Program 
First-of-its-kind course developed by University of California Davis Extension and United States Equestrian Federation begins January 18

USEF members receive a 10 percent enrollment discount and scholarships are available as well. The first of its kind, this specialized studies program brings together UC Davis' expertise in distance education and the expertise of USEF, the National Governing Body for Equestrian Sport in the United States since 1917. Topics covered include risk management, safety, planning & logistics, budgeting, securing sponsors, marketing the event and managing staff and volunteers.

Gladstone, NJ - The United States Equestrian Team Foundation is pleased to announce that the recipient of the 2011 Lionel Guerrand-Hermes Trophy will be eventing rider Tiana Coudray. Each year this award is presented to a Young Rider in one of the Olympic disciplines who exemplifies both sportsmanship and horsemanship. In 2011 Coudray had a banner year, winning the Jersey Fresh CCI*** and the Galway Downs International Horse Trials CIC***, as well as leading the U.S. efforts at the Boekelo CCI*** in Holland.

2011 FTI Winter Equestrian Festival Opens Competition

Wellington, FL - The 2011 FTI Winter Equestrian Festival (WEF) began its competition January 12 with opening jumper classes in the International Arena. Nick Skelton (GBR) was back in the saddle and in the winner's circle with Unique, owned by Beverly Widdowson, in the $8,000 G&C Farm 1.45m Jumpers. The first week of the FTI WEF runs through Sunday. The 2011 FTI Winter Equestrian Festival has 12 weeks of competition that conclude on April 3, and nearly $6 million in prize money will be awarded through the circuit. The highlight jumper class in Week One is the $30,000 Speed Derby on Sunday at 2 p.m.
