James Alliston and Karma, a 2014 Oldenburg mare owned by Alliston Equestrian and Ric Plummer, made their CCI5*-L debut as a combination at the 2024 Kentucky Three Day Event in Lexington, Ky. At Kentucky, the pair finished 12th after a clear cross country and show jump round, only adding time penalties to their dressage score. A few months prior in 2023, the pair was named to their first FEI Nations Cup team to represent team USA at the Military Boekelo-Enschede CCIO4*-NC-L. In mid-2024 Alliston and Karma made their second team debut as a combination at CHIO Aachen CCIO4*-S where their score contributed to a 2nd place finish with only adding 2.4 cross-country time penalties to their dressage score.
