Roadster

The Roadster brings speed and excitement to the show ring. With its fast paced gaits and animation, the Roadster is a crowd favorite to behold. Shown at a jog trot, road gait, and at speed, the horses are hitched to either a two-wheeled cart (bike), a four-wheeled wagon, or shown under saddle. The drivers and riders wear racing silks representing their farm colors.

Roadsters should show animation, brilliance, and competition-ring presence with straight and true action in the jog trot and road gait. When showing on their second direction of the ring, roadsters are asked to “show at speed,” where they show their fastest trot while still maintaining their form. The sound of the whistle brings these classes to a close as the Roadster finishes their go at speed.
