Meet Our Community Outreach Organizations: Great Oak

by US Equestrian Communications Department | Jun 11, 2024, 10:52 AM

Located in Aiken, South Carolina, Great Oak Equine Assisted Programs provide equine assisted activities that promote the physical, emotional, and psychological health of individuals with special needs. Great Oak’s programs are the catalyst for unbridled personal growth and awareness, as they share their knowledge and empower individuals and their families.

One of the great strengths of Great Oak is their attention to detail. Each participant has individualized instruction to best serve their needs. Additionally, Great Oak implemented a volunteer training program where individuals can work up the levels of assistance based on their interest. The success of the program could not be done without their unique horses. Just like the participants, each horse receives individualized care. Recognizing the need for the best care possible for their horses is exactly why Great Oak received a 2024 USEF Opportunity Fund Grant, to be used specifically for equine bodywork and corrective shoeing for their amazing horses. Learn more about Community Outreach Organizations and the USEF Opportunity Fund here
