Horse of the Year and Equestrian of the Year Voting Ends at Midnight Tonight!

Have you voted yet? If not you've got until midnight tonight (January 7th) to get those votes in and help decide which horses will win 2012 USEF International and National Horse of the Year honors, and which equestrian will earn the title 2012 USEF Equestrian of the Year. Palm Beach, FL - The first ever $100,000 Trump Invitational Grand Prix CSI 2* debuted to rave reviews on Sunday, January 6, at the beautiful Mar-a-Lago Club in Palm Beach, FL. With some of the world's top show jumpers competing on the lawn of Donald Trump's scenic estate overlooking South Florida's Intracoastal Waterway, U.S. rider Kent Farrington jumped to victory in the inaugural class aboard Amalaya Investments' Dynamo.

Learn from the Best at the Annual Ocala Symposium: David O'Connor, Linda Zang, and Yogi Breisner

The U.S. Eventing Association's Instructors' Certification Program invites event riders, instructors, horse owners, and other friends of the sport to attend the Ocala Symposium, Monday and Tuesday, February 18 and 19, at Longwood Farm South in Ocala, Florida.  Please join us on both days. Attendance of ICP-certified instructors will earn them ICP Continuing Education credit. 

Monday, February 18, 9 a.m. - 5 p.m.  British event team coach Yogi Breisner will present jump training. 

Tuesday, February 19,
9 a.m. - 5  p.m.   American dressage judge Linda Zang will present dressage training, and incoming American event team coach David O'Connor will present jump training.

FEI Launches New Online Entry for Jumping Events

CSI-W Dannevirke in New Zealand will be the first event to use the new FEI online Entry System for Jumping Events.
FEI World Cup™ Jumping qualifiers in New Zealand at Dannevirke (4-6 January) and Waitemata (12-13 January) will be the first events to use the newly launched FEI online Entry System for Jumping Events. The system allows National Federations and organising committees to manage the entries of athletes and horses in CSIs through a single online platform.
The new system has been designed to improve the automation and exchange of data between the FEI and the NFs with a developed IT system, and will also provide IT tools to NFs that do not already have their own entries database. The system will make communication between the organising committees, NFs and the FEI easier and will ensure a better quality and traceability of data...read more>

Surveys reveal it consists of women who, after a career, raising children, or both, have either returned to riding or are pursuing it as a life long dream. I fall into this demographic, having returned after both a career and children, and once again after major surgery. But where do we go to find training, a supportive community and a purpose in this endeavor?

After much exploration, I was lucky enough to find Western Dressage through the Western Dressage Association® of Colorado.
