Lexington, Ky. – The U.S. Center for SafeSport has notified US Equestrian of an update to the Safe Sport Sanctions List following their issuance of a temporary suspension to Mitchell Steege based on allegations of misconduct.

The temporary suspension of Steege prohibits him from participating, in any capacity, in any activity or competition authorized by, organized by, or under the auspices of the United States Olympic Committee, the national governing bodies recognized by the United States Olympic Committee, including US Equestrian, and/or any US Equestrian Affiliated Organization.

The U.S. Center for SafeSport is an independent, national nonprofit organization with exclusive authority under federal law to investigate and resolve allegations of physical, emotional, or sexual abuse and related misconduct associated with the National Governing Bodies recognized by the U.S. Olympic Committee. US Equestrian members and participants agree to abide by its policies and procedures and are thus subject to the disciplinary jurisdiction of the U.S. Center for SafeSport. The Center’s policies and procedures are guided by the SafeSport Code, which can be found at www.safesport.org.
