The CRI5* and the Tarter Farm and Ranch Equipment World Freestyle Championship will air live from the Alltech Arena in Lexington, Kentucky, featuring reiners from around the world, including U.S. favorites Tim McQuay, Craig Schmersal, Tom McCutcheon and Shawn Flarida, all members of the Gold Medal-winning 2010 Adequan U.S. Reining Team.

Auburn Claims Overall National Championship at 2011 Varsity Equestrian National Championship

Waco, TX - Auburn University claimed its second overall team national championship in the 2011 Varsity Equestrian National Championship at Waco, TX, April 14-16, in the Extraco Events Center. The Tigers, also winners in 2006, placed first in hunter seat competition and fourth in western.  University of Georgia claimed second place with second-place (hunter seat) and third-place (western) finishes. Texas A&M University was awarded third place by finishing first in western and sixth in hunter seat.

2011 Kentucky State Fair World's Championship Horse Show Qualifying Point Standings Posted

WIR 12-23 ASHA logoLexington, KY - Point standings for qualifying in pleasure, park, and park pleasure at the 2011 Kentucky State Fair World's Championship Horse Show (WCHS) are now posted on the American Saddlebred Horse Association's (ASHA) website. There are two sets of qualifying lists: "Pre-Qualified" means the horses' competition records indicate they have met the minimum qualification requirement of having competed in at least six classes at three or more competitions, "All Points" include all horses that have competed in one or more classes toward qualifying. Each list is in order of points earned to date, from high to low, as per Kentucky State Fair qualifying requirements.

Merrimac, MA - On Saturday, June 4, 2011, the Sons of the Wind School of Equestrian Arts will host its third annual Lusitano Festival. This year, the Pride of Portugal; The Lusitano, joins the 'Ride for Life.' This exciting event showcases the beautiful Lusitano horses and the highlights the amazing Portuguese culture, and will now also be helping to try and raise $50,000 for the Johns Hopkins Avon Foundation Breast Center. Each year during the 'Ride for Life,' Sons of the Wind demonstrates the quadrilles and athletic aires above the ground to the thousands in attendance for this worthwhile cause.
