Take some flatwork, add some gymnastic jumping exercises, send all the riders over a carefully designed course, then have the top four riders switch horses and over the course of two days, a very prestigious title is handed out. Welcome to the Platinum Performance/USEF Talent Search Final. Fortunately, in sharp contrast to its West Coast counterpart, the Eastern Finals boasted fabulous weather and perfect conditions. The rain held off and 82 talented riders showed up at the USET headquarters, October 6-7, to contest the Final.

Paso Fino Mundial Plays Host to 10 Countries
Ten countries will bring their finest Paso Fino horses to the Jacksonville Equestrian Center on November 7, 2007, for Mundial an exciting five-day event. Mundial is held every two years in a different country.
This year the Paso Fino Horse Association of Plant City, FL, is the host organization for this event. More than 400 horses are anticipated to compete in 119 classes. Paso Finos are expected from Germany, Aruba, Colombia, Curacao, Panama, Puerto Rico, Switzerland, Venezuela and the United States.

USET Foundation Announces Eventing Riders for 2008 Rose Parade - Olympians Darren Chiacchia, Nina Fout, Kim Severson and Karen Stives
The United States Equestrian Team (USET) Foundation has announced that Darren Chiacchia, Nina Fout, Kim Severson and Karen Stives from the Olympic sport of eventing will represent the USET Foundation in the 2008 Rose Parade in Pasadena, CA. The four eventing riders will join dressage Olympians Sue Blinks, Debbie McDonald, Guenter Seidel and Steffen Peters as riders in a 12-member squad representing the USET Foundation. Next to be selected and announced will be the show jumping Olympians, who will complete the squad of equestrian athletes representing the Olympic disciplines in the 119th Rose Parade on January 1, 2008.

The Grand National & World Championship Morgan Horse Show and the American Morgan Horse Association Salute Oklahoma City’s 100th Centennial With Special Flag Ceremony
The American Morgan Horse Association (AMHA) is joining in Oklahoma’s 100th Centennial Celebration with a special flag ceremony on Friday, October 12, at 7 p.m. at the Oklahoma City Fairgrounds. The salute takes place in the Fairgrounds Main Coliseum during the annual Grand National & World Championship Morgan Horse Show. Admission is free to the ceremony.

United States Dressage Federation Youth Convention Scholarship Winners Announced
The United States Dressage Federation’s (USDF) Youth Executive Board is pleased to announce the winners of the USDF Youth Convention Scholarships for the 2007 Adequan/USDF Annual Convention. This year’s winners are Ryan Michelle Eskridge, Jillian Kemenosh, Katherine Greene and Shari Wolke. Applicants are judged on such qualities as participation in USDF or dressage-related activities, written communication skills, desire to learn, ability to utilize knowledge and the manner in which they plan to share the knowledge learned at the convention.
