Cosequin Wellington Dressage Wrap-Up Cosequin Wellington Dressage, the first of three shows in the Stadium Jumping, Inc., Dressage Series at the Winter Equestrian Festival in Wellington, FL, wrapped up on Sunday, February 11, after four days of competition, which began on February 8. The show featured USEF high-performance qualifying competition for the Collecting Gaits Farm/USEF Grand Prix National Championship and the Collecting Gaits Farm/USEF Intermediaire I National Championship/Pan American Games Selection Trials. Thursday's High-Performance Highlights U.S. Endurance Riders to Compete at the Abu Dhabi President’s Cup Two U.S. riders have been invited to participate in the February 17 FEI*** 160-km HH The President of the UAE Endurance Cup ride in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. The United States Equestrian Federation’s (USEF) top-ranked endurance riders, Susan Summers, riding Mags Motivator, and Dr. Meg Sleeper, DVM, riding Shyrocco Troilus, will make the trip to Abu Dhabi to compete at the Emirates International Endurance Village in Al Wathba. National Ranking Lists Now Available for USEF Dressage Developing Programs In a new format for this year, the Collecting Gaits Farm/USEF National Junior, Young Rider, and Young Adult (“Brentina Cup”) Dressage Championships will all be held in Gladstone, NJ, June 14–17, 2007, in conjunction with the Collecting Gaits Farm/USEF National Intermediaire I and Grand Prix Championships at the United States Equestrian Team (USET) Foundation/Collecting Gaits Farm Dressage Festival of Champions. “Bringing the top horses and riders from all five divisions together will be an unprecedented event,” says Jennifer Keeler, USEF National Director of Dressage. “Having the top competitors in the country, from juniors to Olympians, all together in one location will be a fabulous opportunity to showcase not only the sport but our country’s developing talent in dressage.” American Saddlebred Horse Association to Webcast Annual Meeting Forums, Luncheons and Saddlebred Ball; Saddlebred Farms Open House Week is Underway The American Saddlebred Horse Association (ASHA) will begin webcasting live on Friday several aspects of its 2007 Annual Meeting and Youth Conference, which takes place Thursday through Saturday, February 15-17, at the Embassy Suites of Lexington, KY. The association will utilize its website, www.saddlebred.com, to broadcast the Saddlebred Summit worldwide. Those unable to attend this year’s convention will have an opportunity to watch and listen on Friday and Saturday during selected forums, luncheons and the Annual Prize Giving at the Saddlebred Ball as these events occur live. USEF Announces 2007 Dressage Young Horse Training Sessions The purpose of the USEF Young Horse Dressage Training Sessions is to identify and develop top equine dressage talent in the United States for a future career at the FEI level and international competition on U.S. teams. Mirroring the existing high-performance development programs, horses should be actively training and competing and therefore may be invited to participate in training sessions with the aspiration of their participating in the 2007 Markel/USEF Young Horse Dressage Program (WBC Selection Trials and National Championships). The black-tie event was held at Stillpoint Farm, a beautiful dressage facility owned by Tuny and David Page. In attendance were 240 invited guests, including athletes, coaches, U.S. equestrian team supporters, and staff members of the USET Foundation and the United States Equestrian Federation (USEF).
