Lucy Davis became the youngest GCT Grand Prix winner Saturday (GCT Press Office)
Lausanne, Switzerland - America's Laura Kraut keeps hold of her season rankings lead after a dramatic second round showdown in Lausanne. Keeping ahead of Christian Ahlmann and Luciana Diniz, Laura Kraut stays on top going into the 11th leg of the season in Vienna, Austria. Keeping U.S. domination strong, California's Lucy Davis stole the show in Lausanne after an unbelievable win, marking the biggest in her career.

It was an incredible conclusion to an amazing week here Lausanne. The young and talented Lucy Davis took home the hard-fought victory against French titans Patrice Delaveau and Kevin Staut at only 20 years old. The young American talent blew the Swiss crowd away, last to go in the jump off, as she shaved .33 seconds off Patrice Delaveau's time aboard her incredible 9-year-old gelding by Nabab de Reve. Lucy Davis is the youngest to win this year and the youngest to win in Longines Global Champions Tour more>

Clark Montgomery and Loughan Glen (Shannon Brinkman)
Woodstock, England - The final phase of the Fidelity Blenheim Palace International Horse Trial CCI3* caused a shake-up of the leaderboard but saw top American combinations hold their top 12 placings. On a day where clear rounds were at a premium, Clark Montgomery and Loughan Glen proved their place among the sport's elite, producing one of the few faultless efforts to finish third in the world-class field. Additionally, Meghan O'Donoghue completed her first overseas competition earning 11th place and gaining wealth of experience.

Montgomery (Wiltshire, United Kingdom) and Loughan Glen were making their second appearance at the Blenheim CCI3*, having placed fifth in 2011, and used the weekend to demonstrate how much they have improved in the last 24 months. Jessica Montgomery, Kathryn Kraft, and Holly and William Becker's 10-year-old Irish Sport Horse gelding stood in third place following the dressage phase and a clear, quick trip on the cross country meant they maintained their position heading into Sunday's final phase. In the show jumping, the talented combination produced another impressive effort, jumping immaculately to finish on a score of 45.5, a mere 1.5 penalties behind the more>

Finland's Elmo Jankari and Duchess Desiree (FEI/PSV Jean Morel)

France claimed the Junior Individual and Young Rider Team titles at the FEI European Eventing Championships for Juniors and Young Riders on home turf at Jardy (FRA) today. And last year's silver medallists from Ireland claimed Junior Team gold, while Finland's Elmo Jankari topped the Young Rider Individual podium.

Nothing was easily won at these 2013 Championships, with appalling weather conditions during yesterday's cross-country phase testing the skill and resolve of both horses and riders. Western Dressage: All In One Classroom Sharing Strides - Two Minds, One Journey #5
Deb Herbert & Karen Abbattista

Deb:  "When the Professor, Teacher and Student are all in the same classroom..."

Pardon the school analogy, but, you can take the teacher out of the classroom, you can't take the classroom out of the teacher! I was scheduled for my once a month clinic ride with "R" judge Carol Bishop and grateful we weren't rained out...again. Carol had not seen me for 3 months. That's a long time, and a potential mind blower for me. Would I look like I had been "absent" for the entire three months?

To top it off, Karen was joining us to observe and check for lesson alignment. (At least that's what I was hoping she was doing, they were doing an awful lot of talking and nodding heads together whilst I was aboard!)

Regardless, Carol started the session with a resounding MAKE HER MOVE THOSE BACK LEGS! more>
