John "Jack" Fritz 1924-2012 
John "Jack" Fritz 2000 Jimmy Williams Lifetime Achievemnt Award Recipient (USEF Archive)
Lexington, KY- This past week we mourned the loss of John "Jack" Fritz, a great leader in United States equestrian sport. 
Fritz was on the forefront of developing the disciplines of dressage and eventing in the US. He served as the Chairman of the American Horse Shows Association (present day USEF) Combined Events and Dressage Committee. Additionally, Fritz filled the roles of Secretary Treasurer and Director of the United States Equestrian Team and served as the Vice President of the United States Combined Training Association (present day USEA). Fritz was also instrumental in the founding of the United States Dressage Federation.

U.S. Endurance Riders Finish Strong in Abu Dhabi
At the HH The President of UAE Cup CEI3* in Al Wathba, Abu Dhabi, UAE US endurance riders produced strong results in the field of 128 starters. Lindsay Graham and Monk finished the 160km race in a time 8:53 for thirty-second place (2nd highest finish among foreign competitors). NRHA Germany Becomes an NRHA National Affiliate Association  

Oklahoma City, OK - During their first 2012 meeting, the National Reining Horse Association (NRHA) Board of Directors approved for NRHA Germany to be named an NRHA National Affiliate Association and a member of NRHA's International Affiliate Program. South Carolina's Kimberly McCormack Takes Over Fences, Baylor's Taylor Brown Wins Flat at WEF Collegiate Equitation Challenge

 - Riders representing 16 National Collegiate Equestrian Association (NCEA) varsity teams from around the country gathered to compete in a bracket-style format.
Three rounds were held over fences and it came down to Kimberly McCormack from University of South Carolina and Lisa Goldman from Baylor University in the final bracket. The championship trophy, presented by the South Florida Hunter Jumper Association, was awarded to University of South Carolina junior Kimberly McCormack.     

Flat winner Taylor Brown is a junior at Baylor University, the 2010 Big 12 championship team. The rider, from Palmyra, VA, was undefeated this past semester in her third year on the team...read more>  

Become a Morgan Judge: Attend an AMHA Judges School

AMHAAlthough the 2012 show season has yet to begin, it's not too early to think about attending an AMHA Judges School in the new year!
Two schools will be held in 2012, the first at the Bluegrass Morgan Classic in Lexington, Kentucky, July 5-7; and the second will be at the New York Regional in Syracuse, New York, September 13-15. 

Fees for the 2012 Judges Schools are as follows:
Applicants and Carded Judges: $200

Applicant's Second Clinic: $150

Auditors: $150

Judges schools are open to all, whether you would like to get a judge's card, renew your card, keep your card current, or would like to audit a school.

Lexington, KY - The nation's top saddle seat riders will compete in the 2012 U.S. Saddle Seat World Cup Team Selection Trials held at William Woods University in Fulton, Missouri on March 31, 2012 in hopes of earning a spot on the 2012 U.S. Saddle Seat World Cup Team. The Saddle Seat World Cup consists of a three-gaited and a five-gaited competition. At these Trials five team members and one alternate will be selected for each team. Athletes selected will represent the United States in December's International Saddle Seat World Cup competition in South Africa. See a list of riders that will compete at the Trials here.
