by US Equestrian Communications Department | Apr 27, 2019, 3:00 PM EST

Shortly after the last combination has completed the show jumping course on Sunday and the winner of the 2019 Land Rover Kentucky Three-Day Event presented by Mars Equestrian has been decided, the awards ceremony will take place in the Rolex Stadium to honor everyone from the overall winner to the best-presented combination at the event's horse inspections. Although several of the trophies are housed in the International Museum of the Horse at the Kentucky Horse Park throughout the year, the awards ceremony allows the top performers the chance to hoist their awards high and revel in their achievements in front of a stadium full of eventing fans.

An array of trophies and awards will be presented at Sunday’s post-event ceremonies.

$20,000 Dubarry of Ireland Nations Team Challenge

While the LRK3DE is an individual event, the $20,000 Dubarry of Ireland Nations Team Challenge began in 2013 as a friendly way to mimic the pressures of team competition. Teams consist of three to four members, and each national or mixed national team has members selected based on its top four FEI World Eventing Athlete Rankings per country. Teams are announced after the first horse inspection on Wednesday, and the final placings are decided once the event comes to a close on Sunday.

For more information about the awards, pick up an event program if you are on site or view the LRK3DE website.
