Solitaer 40 is a 14-year-old Hanoverian gelding owned by Kate, Craig, and Deena Shoemaker and ridden by Kate Shoemaker. Shoemaker and "Soli" have spent their entire international career together, contesting their first FEI CPEDI competition in 2015. Soli and Kate made their mark for the U.S. Para Dressage Team at the FEI World Equestrian Games Tryon 2018, capturing an individual bronze medal in the FEI Grade IV Individual Freestyle.

The pair have continued to dominate Grade IV competition in the United States, recording several personal bests in 2021, including a 77.442 percent in the Grade IV Freestyle at their most recent international event before the Paralympic Games. 

Soli and Shoemaker have been a part of every U.S. Para Dressage CPEDI team for the last two years and are set to make their mark in Tokyo in Grade IV competition. The pair's current personal bests are 75.292 percent in the Grade IV Team Test, a 74.634 percent in the Grade IV Individual Test, and a 77.442 percent in the Grade IV Freestyle to Music.
