Wolin Wins USAE Saddle Seat Adult Amateur Medal Final

By Christy Judd O’Donnell

The Third USA Equestrian Saddle Seat Adult Amateur Medal Final returned to the 67th Annual Junior League Horse Show in Lexington, KY on July 11. This relatively new event affords an opportunity for adult equitation riders to pursue a coveted USAE Medal Finals title.

The competitors in this year’s event were strong, as many had completed successful equitation careers in the Junior exhibitor ranks. Many also have carried that success into the Adult Equitation division.

For 2003, the top competitor was Dr. Morgan Wolin of Chicago, IL. Wolin has been riding equitation since the 1970s and has competed in the event since its inception. She has consistently improved her placing, earning the title of Reserve National Finals Champion last year. But 2003 was her year, as a top performance garnered her the Championship title at last.

Wolin was clearly overjoyed when she realized that the coveted title was hers. Her dark suit and jet black hair were a perfect match for her elegant black mount, CF Cool Night Out.
