From the October 2005 issue of EQUESTRIAN magazine: 2005 Pony Finals Gallop Across Bluegrass Country

By Rosey Reed

Bluegrass country rolled out a lavish green carpet of action and adventure for the 2005 USEF Pony Finals. While locals complained of drought conditions, many visitors to the Kentucky Horse Park (home to USEF headquarters) saw these show grounds and their rolling grass fields differently.

Packed with competition and activities designed for kids—not even a rogue lightning storm, arriving the last few hours of the show, could dampen the spirits of these exhibitors.

Some 500 ponies qualified and proved their mettle in five primary events; Green Pony Hunter; Individual Jumper; Team Jumper; Pony Medal and the Grand Pony Hunter Champion.
