Chester Weber Sets Record With Fifth Consecutive Win of the USEF National Four-in-Hand Championship

It was a “typical day” at the office for Chester Weber as he went out and captured yet another USEF National Four-in-Hand Championship, his fifth in a row. Yet, Weber, of Ocala, FL, had some top-notch competition to challenge him as two previous five-time winners sought to win their sixth title. Both Tucker Johnson of Hobe Sound, FL, and James Fairclough of Newton, NJ, have accomplished what Weber has done, but neither has had the reign that Weber has maintained over the past five years.

Runaway Victory for Germany, U.S. Ends in Fourth and It's Farewell to France in the Samsung Super League Final

The 2007 Samsung Super League with FEI final at Barcelona in Spain lived up to expectations on Sunday when, in a nail-biting thriller, Germany registered a second successive series title along with victory on the day.

But for France, champions over the first two seasons of this hugely popular and high-profile Nations Cup series, it was a case of so near and yet so far, and luck played a big part as they were forced into relegation. A single fence separated them from the Swedish team, who slotted into joint-second place with The Netherlands at the end of the day, and the Swedes owe a great deal to Holland's Gerco Schroder. Without his single second-round error, they would not have shared runner-up spot and gained the extra two points that made all the difference in the final standings.

Exciting Finishes at the Wellpride American Eventing Championships

Nothing was easy to predict in the show jumping phase of the advanced division at the Wellpride American Eventing Championships (AEC) at Lamplight Equestrian Center in Wayne, IL. Only Canadian Young Rider Kelly List and Minstral were able to put in a double-clear round.

Dressage leader Allison Springer, who was in fifth place going into the final phase aboard Arthur, had eight time faults to finish on 40.7. She was followed by fourth-placed Corinne Ashton on Dobbin with one rail down for a score of 36.5. Darren Chiacchia on Timothy Holekamp’s Windfall II followed, dropping two rails to finish on 38.4.
