Rookie Gabe Hutchins Takes Home Adequan/USEF National Open Reining Championship; Galbraith Sisters Dominate in the USEF Youth Reining National Championship presented by Hagyard Equine Medical Institute

The 2007 Adequan/USEF National Open Reining Championship boasted a small but talented field, and there was a strong showing from the youths in the USEF Youth Reining National Championships presented by Hagyard Equine Medical Institute at the Kentucky Horse Park.

When the dust settled, Gabe Hutchins and Juiced Up Doc were the clear winners bringing home the loot on a score of 226. In his first year of FEI competition and his first try at the CRI**** level, Hutchins stared down the best. He was second to go in the class, and after putting up a great score on the strength of excellent spins, he waited while some of the top reiners in the world tried to beat the standard he set.

Home Team Gets Best of Draw in Aachen for the Samsung Super League with FEI Series

The rain was still falling in Aachen, but German eyes were smiling as the home team was drawn in the most favorable position for Thursday's leg of the 2007 Samsung Super League with FEI series.

Deputizing for chef d'equipe Kurt Gravemeier, top German rider Markus Beerbaum was delighted when his country was drawn last to go of the eight nations, but British chef d'equipe Derek Ricketts was less enthusiastic when his side was pulled out of the hat in No. 1 position. "We've had an up-and-down season so far," said the manager of the British team, which won the second leg of the series in Rome before suffering elimination in St. Gallen and then winning again at the last outing in Rotterdam two weeks ago.
