Debbie McDonald Training Package Auction Raises $240,000 for Dressage Team
In a history-making fundraising effort for the United States dressage team, the Debbie McDonald Training Package Auction raised $240,000 in live action at Celebrate With The Champions, the benefit dinner held on Saturday, June 19, in San Juan Capistrano , CA . Three bidders tied up the action at $80,000 and were each rewarded with the ‘winning bid' for “The Package” – McDonald agreed to match her initial offer for all of them. The high bidders are all dressage riders from California : Linda Edwards of Rancho Sante Fe, Elma Garcia of Marin County, and Melanie Cornwell of Escondido . Each of the winning bidders receives one month's training with Debbie McDonald at River Grove Farm in Sun Valley , ID , complete with board for her horse and accommodations in a condominium.

Dressage World Cup Finals Set for Las Vegas
Las Vegas Events announced this past Saturday that the World Cup Finals for Show Jumping and Dressage will be held at the Thomas & Mack Center on April 20-24, 2005 . For the first time ever in international competition two World Cup Finals will be held concurrently in the same city. Samsung Super League 2004—Eugenie Wins It for France
In a thrilling jump off against the clock, Eugenie Angot stole the show for France at the fourth leg of the Samsung Super League in Rotterdam today.
"It was almost my first Nations Cup" the 33 year old Frenchwoman said afterwards. "I rode once before on a French team in Linz in Austria in 1996 and competed in pony and young rider teams but this is the first time I have been part of the main French team and I am delighted that things went so well today" she added.

USEF Now Accepting Nominations for the Lifetime Achievement Award
Nominations are now being accepted for the USEF Lifetime Achievement Award. The recipient of this award will be presented the Jimmy A. Williams trophy at the 2005 Annual Meeting in Louisville , KY. This award recognizes a horseman or woman whose “lifetime experience and accomplishments exemplify uncommon devotion to the sport of competition with horses and whose equestrian career and horsemanship have continually elevated the sport's excellence.”
Your nomination should include: the nominee's name; the city and state of residence; discipline(s) and/or breed(s); your reason for suggesting him/her; and any other information pertinent to any involvement in the horse industry. Please be aware that this honor is not awarded posthumously and the nominee should still be living and no longer actively competing in equestrian sport.

Form and Function Symposium for Breeders
The Performance Horse Registry and USEF will host a “Form and Function” symposium for breeders with Dr. Marvin Beeman. Dr. Beeman has been an equine practitioner since 1957 and is the past president of the American Association of Equine Practitioners (AAEP). He was also named Colorado Veterinarian of the year in 1975 and serves as the Joint Master and Huntsman of the Arapahoe Hunt Club.
The symposium will be offered on Saturday, August 21, 2004 , from 1-5 p.m. in the Federation offices in Lexington , KY. Registration is required and a there is a fee of $25 for USEF Members and $35 for non-members.
