Award Nominees Announced, Thompson to be Honored
for Lifetime Achievement |

Lexington, KY - The
American Saddlebred Horse
Association (ASHA) has announced its annual award
winners, based on ballots tabulated by the ASHA
Board of Directors. Nominees for each award are
received from the general membership and committee
volunteers, screened by the Executive Committee of
the Association, and voted on by the full Board
from the candidates selected. The awards are
presented at the Annual Saddlebred Gala, to be
held at the Griffin Gate Marriott Resort & Spa
on February 19,

delegates for the FEI World Cup Qualifier with 28
of the world's best equine athletes looking to
garner points toward a spot in the finals, held
April 27 through May 1 in Leipzieg, Germany. Kent
Farrington, who divides his residence between
Greenwich, CT, in the summer and Wellington, FL,
during the winter, partnered with crowd favorite
Up Chiqui claimed the first victory in Friday
evening's $31,500 CSI Welcome.

FL - The United States Equestrian
Federation (USEF) ran a High Performance dressage
observation session at Mary Anne and Walter
McPhail's High Meadow Farm in Loxahatchee, FL,
over the weekend of January 8-9. Eleven
horse/rider combinations participated in the
observation session with U.S. Dressage Technical
Advisor, Anne Gribbons. Arlene 'Tuny' Page rode
two horses and found the insight from Gribbons
invaluable.

NRHA Hall of Fame Inductees

Oklahoma
City, OK - At the recent National Reining
Horse Association (NRHA) Board of Directors
meeting, the 2011 Hall of Fame nominations were
approved featuring the largest class of inductees
to date. The eight inductees include a mix of
historic people and horses and some of today's
most well-known names. Those people who will be
formally inducted at the 2011 Awards Banquet
include Shawn Flarida, Bob Kiser, Mandy McCutcheon
and Ronnie Sharpe. Horses include three stallions
- Boomernic, Shining Spark and Wimpys Little
Step, and one mare, Collena Chic

FL - Dressage rider Caroline Roffman
kicked off the New Year by competing in and
winning the Young Rider Grand Prix on Lux
Stensvang at the Wellington Classic Dressage
Challenge I Show. Roffman, who was named the 2010
FEI Rising Star by the International Equestrian
Federation, won the FEI or Equivalent Test of
Choice Open on Lux with a score of 68.605% and
also rode Pie to the win in the FEI or Equivalent
Test of Choice Open with a 72.105%.

Competition year is approaching quickly. Renew
