2005 USEF Annual Meeting: Looking Back and Planning Ahead

This year's Annual Meeting has begun and runs through January 16. If you are planning on traveling to the Seelbach Hotel in Louisville, KY, for the Annual Meeting, there are a variety of events to attend, from committee meetings to the various receptions, luncheons and dinners planned in honor of those athletes that have achieved their own personal successes in the last year. From the Welcome Reception to the Horse of the Year Awards, there will be much to celebrate. As the USEF looks back on 2004 and plans ahead for 2005, the Annual Meeting will be where it all happens. In addition, online reports at www.usef.org during and after the Annual Meeting will keep members informed as to where the Federation is headed. ASHA Individual Annual Awards Announced: Mueller, Groves and Sheffield to Receive Top Honors

The American Saddlebred Horse Association (ASHA) has announced its 2005 Individual Annual Award winners with Marty Mueller, Mr. and Mrs. Franklin Groves and Ray Sheffield receiving top honors.

The winners will be recognized at the 2005 American Saddlebred Annual Meeting during the American Saddlebred Ball and Annual Prize Giving on Saturday, February 19, at the Keeneland Race Course Entertainment Center. Seven individuals will be honored at the Ball with the Association’s most prestigious awards.

Nine Horse and Rider Teams to Travel to the UAE for World Endurance Championship and President’s Cup

The nine horse and rider teams representing the United States for the World Endurance Championship (United Arab Emirates, January 27) and President’s Cup (UAE, February 17) have officially been named. For the full list, click here.


Attention Horse of the Year Champions--The Deadline is Approaching

EQUESTRIAN magazine will publish its annual photo gallery and roster of national, zone, regional and district Horse of the Year champions in the March 2005 issue. Owners of Horse of the Year champions are invited to submit photos for publication in the photo gallery. Final standings will be available on the website on December 20, 2004. The mailing of notification letters began on December 20 as well. All photos must be received in our office no later than January 21, 2005. (Photos received after this date cannot be included in the championship roster and will be returned if a self-addressed stamped envelope is included. The Federation is not responsible for lost or misdirected mail.)

Torri Nahorniak Named USEF High Performance Director of Eventing

Effective January 7, Torri Nahorniak has been named as High Performance Director of Eventing for the USEF. She is assuming the position vacated by Jim Wolf who was recently named Executive Director of High Performance She will divide her time between the Lexington, KY, headquarters and the USEF High Performance office in Gladstone, New Jersey.

American Grand Prix Association Announces 2005 Series Schedule

The American Grandprix Association (AGA) released the official 2005 schedule of events for this year’s tour, the nation’s richest and longest running series of equestrian show jumping events. In its 27th year of equestrian excellence, the AGA tour includes 32 events in 22 different equestrian markets and offers over $2.5 million in prize money.

The United States Equestrian Federation, Inc.
