Recreational Vaulting Coach Certification Clinic is Now a Certified Horsemanship Association Stand Alone Clinic
Release:
April 27 2009
Author:

By Christy Landwehr
Certified Horsemanship Association (CHA) is now offering the Recreational Vaulting Coach Certification as a stand-alone certification clinic. This clinic was designed in conjunction with the American Vaulting Association (AVA). Prior to approval of the change by the CHA Board of Directors in March of this year, it was required by the participant to either hold an instructor certification or attend a “standard equivalency test out” prior to the vaulting clinic. Since so many excellent vaulting coaches throughout North America do not teach group riding, but only vaulting, it seemed unnecessary to require this certification.
The Recreational Vaulting Coach Certification Clinic is a 24-hour clinic consisting of four workshops on subjects such as Teaching Techniques for Coaches and Selection, Training, and Care of the Vaulting Horse. Participants will also be asked to teach a minimum of two lessons both on the vaulting barrel and the horse and take a written examination. Visit
www.cha-ahse.org/cert.htm#vaulting
to find out how to host one or attend one to get ready for your summer vaulting lessons.
The purpose of the Certified Horsemanship Association (CHA) is to promote excellence in safety and education for the benefit of the horse industry. CHA certifies riding instructors, recreational vaulting coaches, barn managers, drivers and trail guides; accredits equestrian facilities; publishes educational equine manuals and hosts regional and international educational conferences that are open to the public.
