USEF Announces Rule Change Effective Immediately for 2009 Competition Year
Release:
March 19 2009
Author:
smeier
Lexington, KY— The United States Equestrian Federation announces the approval of a Rule Change by the Executive Committee that is effective immediately for Rule GR1211.5b.
The change to the rule is the following:
GR1211 Appointment of Officials and Employees. [Chapter 12. Competition Officials, Employees and Volunteers]
Effective immediately:
5. Qualified Medical Personnel. (Exception: Eventing - see EV113.4)
b. Competitions using more than three performance areas simultaneously and all first year A or AA rated competitions, must have an at least one additional person who is CPR-certified to assist the medical personnel of record for that competition. The additional person may have other duties related to the competition provided they can be immediately available to respond to an emergency. This person must be identified to officials and staff. Dressage arenas do not count as performance areas. If more than six performance areas are used simultaneously there must be at least two additional people who are CPR-certified to assist the medical personnel of record for that competition.
Any questions regarding this Rule Change can be directed to Leigh Anne Claywell, USEF’s Director of Competitions, at (859) 225-6959 or at lclaywell@usef.org.
