Adequan® (polysulfated glycosaminoglycan) Becomes Title Sponsor of the North American Junior/Young Rider Championships

Lexington, KY – The United States Equestrian Federation (USEF) has benefited from the support of Luitpold Pharmaceuticals, Inc., the makers of Adequan® (polysulfated glycosaminoglycan), in a number of different programs and championships since 2005. In 2009, Adequan® will continue to make a huge difference in the Equestrian world by signing on as the title sponsor for the 2009 Adequan® North American Junior/Young Rider Championships (NAJYRC).

These Championships are the showcase for up-and-coming talent in four equestrian disciplines. They compete for team and individual FEI medals. Young equestrian athletes between the ages of 14-21 in the three Olympic disciplines of Dressage, Eventing and Jumping and the World Equestrian Games discipline of Reining, will ascend on the Kentucky Horse Park from July 21-26, 2009.

This is the first time NAJYRC will be held at the Kentucky Horse Park, which in 2010 will host the Alltech FEI World Equestrian Games. Adequan® is very visible in the equine community and supports equine athletes at every level of competition.

The only FEI Championship run annually in the US, many of the world’s best equestrians who now regularly represent the US on Olympic, World Championship and Nations Cup teams got their first taste of International experience at NAJYRC. These include 2008 Olympians Karen O’Connor and McLain Ward.
