Q: Do I have to be a member of IFSHA to compete in a Friesian or Partbred
Friesian class?
A: Per USEF rule FR101.1, if you are signing the USEF entry agreement,
you must either be a member of IFSHA or pay a non-member fee to IFSHA for each
competition in which you plan to compete. The exception to this rule is if a
parent/guardian is signing for a minor, they do not have to be an IFSHA member
or pay a non-member fee.

Q: If I compete in Show Pleasure Driving, can I take my horse in
a Park class?
A: No. According to FR129.4, cross entry is not permitted between the
following sections at the same competition:
- Country English Pleasure
- English Pleasure
- Park
- Show Pleasure Driving

Q: Can I compete in a Saddle Seat saddle in the Hunter Hack class?
A: No. FR145.2 states, Saddle Seat saddles are prohibited in the Hunter
Hack section. You may use an English Hunt, close contact, or all-purpose saddle.
Sidesaddles are also permitted.

Q: In the Walk-Trot division, can a rider show in Hunt Seat Attire?
A: Yes. Horses may be shown in any style of tack and the attire,
tack and presentation should match the discipline being ridden per USEF
rule FR195.2. However, it is at the competition’s discretion to divide
the walk-trot classes by seat.

Q: Can my rider compete in the Walk-Trot division if they have
already competed in a class that required a canter at another show?
A: For USEF licensed competitions, eligibility for the following classes is
based upon participation at USEF licensed competitions. In Walk-Trot Junior
Horse and Walk-Trot Green Horse Pleasure, the horse may not be shown if it
has competed in another class which required a canter or lope. In Walk-Trot
Green Rider Equitation, the rider is being judged and may not compete in this
class if he has ridden at a canter or lope in another class . In Walk-Trot
Pleasure, the horse/rider combination may not be shown if they have competed
in a class that required a canter or lope.
