Charlie Jayne Captures USEF Show Jumping Talent Search Finals – East
Following two days of demanding competition with some of the most talented
junior riders in the eastern United States, Charlie Jayne emerged as the USEF
Show Jumping Talent Search Finals – East Champion, riding Cassino Z, owned by his girlfriend, Lauren Sturges.
The 20-year-old resident of Elgin, IL, was emotional about his win and felt his success was due to the support of his family, particularly his father, Alex, who also happens to be his trainer.
“It means a lot,” said Jayne. After all the hard work my dad, mom and Missy [Clark] did for me and all the support they gave me, I’m glad that I was able to do this for them and for me.”

Delaware State University Launches Into its First Women's Equestrian Team Season; Six-Woman Team Opens its NCAA 2006-07 Season
After almost a year of planning and preparation, the Delaware State University Women Equestrian Team will commence its first competitive season with seven meets scheduled for the 2006-2007 season.
Led by Head Coach Leigh Nichol and Assistant Head Coach Amy Walls and Western Assistant Coach Bill Brown, the inaugural Lady Hornets Equestrian Team begins its first season with six team members – Kayleigh Karnbach, Kamerra Brown, Christina Smith, Kera Russum, Jenna Warren and Morgan Scuse.

Laura Kraut Wins Tack365.com Leading Show Jumper of the Year
At the 2006 Horse of the Year Show, U.S. show jumper Laura Kraut took home top honors when she and Anthem beat out 23 riders from around the world in the Tack 365.com Grand Prix. Anthem is a 15-year-old KWPN gelding, owned by Summit Syndicate. To hear an audio interview with Laura at the show, click on the following link, www.hoys.co.uk. Kraut and Anthem also had sucess at the CSI***** Brussels, September 20 - October 1, taking second place in the Audi Equestrian Master Trophy Gold League 1.60.
Farnam Presents The Horse Show with Rick Lamb
Farnam and Daily72 team-up to present The Horse Show with Rick Lamb. Scheduled to join the RFD-TV lineup beginning October 31, 2006, the show airs Tuesdays at 5 p.m. and 11 p.m. EST, and Wednesdays at 9 a.m. EST. The show will also air each weekend – check your local listings.
This new weekly television show, certain to hook horse lovers everywhere, is a magazine-style program. Topics including training, travel, health, human interest and historical segments are all slated for the first season.

Help Debbie Ride On!
Respected rider and trainer Debbie Atkinson, 44 of Columbia, KY, sustained a
serious injury after taking a fall while competing at the Kentucky Classic Horse
Trials in September. She crushed her C1, C2 and C3 vertebrae and injured her
spinal cord, causing paralysis but is totally coherent in mind and soul.
Debbie wishes to have one of her successful horses, Pantera, continue to compete with rider Cathy Wieschhoff of Lexington, KY. Sponsored by Nutrena and the Ocotillo Group, Cathy is an accomplished rider who has represented the U.S. at the Burghley CCI**** in England and is a longtime local favorite at the Rolex Kentucky three-day event. She is also a longtime friend of Debbie’s, who had started training with her after moving to Kentucky earlier this year.
