2005 USEF Annual Meeting Location Announced

The site for the 2005 Annual Meeting is The Seelbach Hilton, Louisville's premier, luxury hotel since its grand opening in 1905. As a landmark to a "golden era," the hotel appears on the National Register of Historic Places, and has attracted many famous figures - from eight U.S. presidents to Al Capone. The hotel is also home to Kentucky's first and only five diamond restaurant, The Oakroom, featuring award-winning cuisine from Chef Jim Gerhardt.
 
The Seelbach Hilton is located at 500 Fourth Avenue, Louisville, KY 40202. The USEF has secured a group rate of $104 single occupancy and $109 double occupancy, plus tax. Suites are available for $249 and up per night. The USEF rate is available for three days prior to and three days following the meeting dates, based on availability. Check-in is at 3:00 pm and check-out is 1:00 pm.

Independent Review Body Established by the FEI Following the Olympic Games

On the initiative of the Jumping Committee, the FEI Executive Board has approved the creation of an Independent Temporary Committee to establish why a number of horses received tendon injuries during the jumping competitions at the 2004 Olympic Games in Athens and to produce recommendations for the future.

Winston Wins the 2004 Sallie B. Wheeler/USEF Hunter Breeding National Championship

Winston, owned by Nokomis Farm and handled by Matt Collins, won the 2004 Sallie B. Wheeler/USEF Hunter Breeding National Championship on Saturday, September 4, 2004, at the historic Warrenton Horse Show. Winston was awarded the Dave T. Kelley Perpetual Trophy donated by Nokomis Farms. Winston is by Welt Hit Star out of Jardhu. Diana Dodge won the J. Arthur Reynolds Perpetual Trophy donated by his family for breeder of the Overall Grand Champion.

Attention Hunter/Jumper competitors:
On July 6, 2004, the Board of Directors of the USEF voted to recognize the United States Hunter Jumper Association, Inc. (USHJA), as the national affiliate for the hunter discipline and international affiliate for the jumper discipline. Beginning with the 2005 competition year, any individual participating in open hunter and/or jumper divisions at USEF-recognized competitions is required to be a member of both the USEF and USHJA. Please note that the hunter/jumper discipline dues to the USEF has been lowered from $35 to $15. For your convenience, the USHJA membership application is included on the USEF renewal.

To Renew Online:

  • If you don’t have an Authorized User Account (AUA), you can create one through this page with your membership number (USEF # ) and last name.
  • After creating your account, click LOG IN to log in to your Authorized User Account.

Week in Review Competition Results for September 2004



The United States Equestrian Federation, Inc. (USEF), as the National Equestrian Federation of the U.S., is the regulatory body for the Olympic and World Championship sports of dressage, driving, endurance, eventing, reining, show jumping, and vaulting, as well as 20 other breeds and disciplines of equestrian competition. As the country's largest multi-breed organization, the Federation has over 80,000 members and recognizes more than 2,800 competitions nationwide each year. It governs all aspects of competition, including educating and licensing all judges, stewards and technical delegates who officiate at these shows.
