The success was all the more awe-inspiring because Stafford had only been driving the pony—Wayne and Sybil Humphries’ nine-year-old Welsh Cob, Cefnoakpark Bouncer—for a few weeks.

From the July/August 2005 issue of EQUESTRIAN magazine: Dressage and the Senior Equestrian
Dressage is not only a sport that is likely to take a lifetime to master, but one that most people can actually participate throughout most of their life. While there are only a few marathon runners who keep racing in their 80’s and 90’s, there are quite a few riders who are able to climb aboard a horse and complete at least a training level test.
Special awards for senior equestrians in dressage include the Vintage Cup, Master’s Challenge and the Centurion award. The Vintage Cup, for riders over age 50, and the Master’s Challenge, for riders over age 60, are presented by the United States Dressage Federation (USDF). The Centurion award, presented by the The Dressage Foundation, is given to a horse and rider pair whose combined ages totals more than 100 years old, who are able to ride down the centerline and perform a dressage test.
